Adjudication
No communication is permitted with any Adjudicator prior to or during the Festival by teachers, participants, parents of participants, or members of the audience. Please contact the Festival Office for appropriate time and procedure if you wish to communicate with an Adjudicator in any way, eg. to express appreciation.
Unauthorized communication with an Adjudicator will result in disqualification. The Adjudicator shall have discretionary power to stop any performance at any time. In all matters of adjudication, the Adjudicator’s decision shall be final.
Protests must be received in writing during or within 15 days of the Festival to the attention of the Dispute Resolution Committee and must be accompanied by a $5.00 fee. This fee will be returned should the protest be sustained.
No protest or complaint may be addressed directly to any Adjudicator.
Eligibility
Competitors must be bona fide residents of the Interior of British Columbia.
All classes, unless otherwise specified, shall be open to amateurs only. The term “amateur” shall mean one whose principal income is not derived from musical services. This condition does not apply to conductors of choirs or choral groups, nor to those bona fide students of music or dance who teach for the purpose of applying the money so earned to the furtherance of their musical education, provided their entry form is signed by their teacher.
